The benefits of feeding Allprovide raw:

If fed raw (uncooked) Allprovide meals mimic the raw meat, bones, fruit and vegetables the animal would eat naturally in the wild.  Physiologically your dog or cat is not very dissimilar to their wild cousins, who are designed to eat their foods raw - as Mother Nature intended.  We humans are the only species that cook their foods. Your pet’s gut contains enzymes specifically to allow your pet to easily process and digest raw food, benefiting from all of the natural goodness.  This means that the animal is generally happier and healthier on a raw diet, as the digestive system is no longer struggling to process ingredients with which it was not designed to cope.

The benefits of feeding Allprovide cooked:

Many of us have found our pets to be reluctant eaters and have found it difficult to find a food they will enjoy.  Some of us simply enjoy their happiness when they eat a freshly cooked meal.  Gently cooking in a pan or microwave will remove any fear you may have about feeding a raw meal.  Served with all the juices which are released upon cooking, your pet’s dinner will retain most of its natural nutrients and goodness.  We have also found that many "toy" or very small breeds prefer it cooked.

Cooking Instructions:  Defrost frozen pouches in the refrigerator.  Preheat a non stick skillet or pan on the stove top to medium heat. Open pouch with scissors and squeeze contents into pan.  Stir occasionally, cooking lightly for 3 minutes or until meat is throughly cooked (do not allow the meat to brown).  Cool completely before serving.  Check internal temperature by squeezing with your fingers before serving.  May be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

As an alternative Allprovide may be microwaved in the pouch:  Place defrosted pouch in a microwavable bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes.  Remove from microwave and allow to rest for 3 minutes.  Open pouch with scissors and squeeze contents into bowl.  Mix with spoon as some potions may still be pink.  If still too pink return to microwave for an additional 1 minute cooking. Check internal temperature by squeezing with your fingers before serving.  May be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Remember:

•When transitioning to any new food it is best to make the change over a few days.

•If mixing with a kibble, be sure it is fully soaked before mixing with Allprovide.

•The addition of a probiotic can also be helpful.  This can be purchased online, in pet stores or you may wish to simply add a small amount of plain natural yogurt to your pet’s dinner to ease any transition.

At Allprovide, our primary concern is to ensure that your dog or cat receives a nutritious, healthy diet - and to achieve this, we use only the best ingredients available, including USDA meat and Grade A poultry.

As when handling any raw meat, there are some simple tips to follow to eliminate exposure to any harmful bacteria, even though all our foods are tested to ensure the absence of any nasty pathogens:

  • Wash your hands after handling Allprovide, or any raw meat.

  • Wash your pet's bowl with hot soapy water after each use.

  • Wipe down and wash any surfaces used to prepare your pet's meal with an antibacterial cleaner.

  • Store any raw meat at the bottom of your fridge, preferably in an air-tight sealed container - this avoids any drips and cross-contamination.

  • Do not leave your pet's food out for any length of time.  If not eaten within five minutes, cover the bowl and put it back in the fridge.  Your pet may simply be not hungry, or still full from the last meal!
